Sparklers are arguably the most dangerous firework. They mostly cause injury when people take hold of the stalk, which remains extremely hot, after the sparkler has finished sparkling. Have a bucket of water ready and make sure everyone drops their sparklers in it as soon as they are finished.

Three sparklers burning generate the same amount of heat as a blow-torch.

Is your firework safe?
Check that your fireworks conform to the British Safety standard BS7114. Don't use any firework that doesn't have this mark on the firework selection box and the firework itself.
